* Exposició Oleguer Plana: Introducció a les còpules.

Les còpules es defineixen com a funcions que connecten distribucions multivariants amb les seves distribucions marginals unidimensionals. L'estudi de còpules en estadística és un fenomen modern que comença a la dècada dels 90 amb l'interès en estudiar funcions de distribució amb marginals donades i la seva independència. Aquesta breu introducció a les còpules forma part del projecte final de màster "Robustness of copulas in assessing the efficiency of the main endpoint in a randomized clinical trial" i l'objectiu d'aquesta part és veure les definicions i propietats bàsiques de les còpules.

Our main goals were to review the methods of bias correction, to obtain bias-corrected survival estimates of the screening-detected BC cases and to evaluate the impact of the lead time and length bias. Data from the cancer registries of Catalonia (Girona and Tarragona) and the Hospital del Mar Early Detection Program were used. A simulation study that reproduces the progress of breast cancer was performed. Our simulation model considered the Lee and Zelen model inputs for Catalonia. We also evaluated the benefit in terms of survival of the screening detection.
